Vista sidebar news feed not updating
🙂 Unlike the gadget from Windows Vista, the new Feed Reader does not manage its own list of RSS feeds.Share How To Manage and Organize Windows 7 Feed Reader 1.
I have the "feeds" sidebar gadget for Windows 7, set to show MSNBC news feeds.
A few days ago I noticed that the gadget continues showing the same 100 feeds without updating to show new ones.
Mine seems to be working though, looks like it updates every 20-30 seconds or so. Check if RSS Download Engine is running reg query HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Feeds /v Sync Status Look at the "Status" line, it should read "0x01" or "0x1".
If it isn't enabled, then enable it msfeedssync enable 3.
If I need to go to the Microsoft Users group, I will do so.
I'm pretty sure I would type something like this: Gadgets installed from untrusted sources can harm your computer and can access your computer's files, show you objectionable content, or change their behavior at any time.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the gadget, and performed the tests referenced in the MSDN Blog article "Feeds Not Updating" at is Vista Home Premium SP1.
Our investigations show that these tend to occur after upgrades from one pre-release build of Windows Vista to another version.
Check if task is corrupted schtasks /query | findstr /i "user_feed" Look for ERROR: The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with.
